What is the Green Star Verification and Handover credit?
Verification and Handover is Credit 3 under Green Star Buildings NZ. It is a Minimum Expectation, so you cannot trade it off against points elsewhere. Miss it and the project does not certify. The credit is there to make sure a building works the way it was designed to from the day people move in, and that it is handed over ready to run well, not just ready for opening day.
It covers three parts:
- Metering and monitoring: the building is metered properly, and the data is captured and monitored.
- Commissioning and tuning: the building is commissioned, then tuned over time so it works as intended.
- Building information: the operating documents are ready, so whoever runs the building can run it well.
